BLADDER INFECTIONS IN OLDER DOGS

Woof everypups, cats and hamsters, Desert Pup's Mom here. I know this is probably going to embarrass Scuba a bit, discussing this during her birthday party, but I was wondering if anyone has a dog that gets frequent bladder infections? The older Scuba gets the more bladder infections she gets. The Doggie Doctor prescribes Clavomox and that usually takes care of it for awhile but then the infection seems to always come back. I've tried different diets but Scuba is turning out to be quite the finicky eater in her golden years. If anyone has any suggestions I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks.
pee-ess: we're still working on the party photos and will post them as soon as possible.

PARTY IN THE DESERT

Woo-woo!!! Well, Scuba's birthday party is in full swing and is expected to last for several more days. The beer is cold, the burgers are yummy and Mom just made some turkey tacos. Khyra was kind enough to show up with a cat pinata so things are starting to get a little crazy. And look who just crashed the party, none other than Charlie Coyote. Watch out, MJ.
pee-ess: We will show more party photos as soon as they become available. With the election only a couple weeks away, the puparazzi have been following Khyra like crazy so they should have plenty of photos.

SCUBA

Desert Pup's Mom here, as expected the party is still going strong. And since it is such a momentous occasion with Scuba turning 13, I am letting the Pups have the run of the place(a decision I may regret later). But I wanted to take the opportunity to show a few early photos of Scuba.

Scuba's first birthday party, October 18, 1996.

Scuba at 2 months,

She was so tiny, she could sleep in a cat bed(which she is sitting on top of in the photo). She was the first dog I could ever call my own and she changed my life forever. She and her littermates were rescued by a friend of mine who stopped a very evil man from abandoning the six week old puppies in the desert. She got her name after she ripped apart my scuba gear and walked into the living room with my scuba goggles in her mouth. It was such a silly sight that I didn't have the heart to be angry. Scuba became my best friend and would show me how rewarding life could be living with one crazy pooch.

HOME FOR THE HOLIDAYS

Woof everypups, cats and hamsters, Scuba here. While Mom and the other pooches are getting ready for my birthday party, I wanted to tell you of a really pawsome pet adoption program. It's Iams Home 4 the Holidays pet adoption drive and their goal is to find forever homes for ONE MILLION PETS this holiday season. The spokesperson for Home 4 the Holidays is Felicity Huffman from the television show 'Desperate Housewives'. After she adopted Tucker,a black lab mix, Felicity was determined to raise awareness about the millions of homeless pets throughout North America. Now all of us here at DWB are very fortunate to have a good, forever home with loving(and forgiving) Moms and Dads. But there are many pets out there who aren't as lucky. Please join Desert Pups in helping Felicity bring all of these loving and wonderful pets Home 4 the Holidays.

We've added a link to the Iams website in the upper right corner of our blog. Also, listed below are several links to YouTube, featuring Felicity and Tucker promoting Home 4 the Holidays.
